preliminary presentation, capacity and pattern study, urban analysis, concept research and sketches
Aplemont district was built in the 50's, in the tradition of garden city planning: twin houses were built with large gardens, for the new residents to maintain their gardening activities. Unfortunatly the building materials those dwelling were made from, are actually in bad condition and unhealthy for the inhabitant.
The main public housing trust of the ciy of le Havre Edls (Etuaire de la Seine) foresaw the need to refurbish the district with a program of densification.
After a preliminary presentation about sustainable development of district areas, I was in charge of proposing some urban planning scenarios with feasability studies for the area.
Mixed density programm : Appartment units and row houses, average sized buildings with outside walkway access.
Upholding the garden city concept : family gardens in the heart of the blocks, bio-climatic urban design.
Specific social programs : Kangaroo houses (family/aged care blocks) , hostel and hall of residence, cooperative hall.
